Mary Simon holds a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, both in oboe performance. Her primary teachers included Martin Schuring and John Dee. After graduation, she studied oboe-making and repair under Ginger Ramsay at Covey & Ramsay in Georgia. Upon completion of her apprenticeship, she briefly served in Evanston doing repairs for Oboe Chicago. Thereafter, Mary returned to Arizona to work for David and Vendla Weber as office manager and repair technician for Weber Reeds, a position which she held for three and a half years. Mary currently owns and operates MAS Oboe Repair and is a member of the Verde Valley Sinfonietta and Arizona Philharmonic. Maryhas studied under Larry Mueller and Ken Decker for rurther professinal development.
